#TRON: Uprising - Episode 1 & Character Profiles

According to Entertainment Weekly, TRON: Uprising, Beck’s Beginning,” introduces a Beck, a young mechanic living in Argon City, a growing metropolis in a far off corner of the grid that has just been occupied by General Tesler, a henchman of the notorious Clu. After his best friend Bodhi is ruthlessly derezzed by Clu’s army, Beck seeks justice for his lost friend and launches a crusade against the regime.  His rebellion captures the attention of Tron, the greatest warrior The Grid has ever known, who sees the potential in Beck and trains him to be his successor. Labeled with the moniker of The Renegade, Beck sparks a revolution to fight for the freedom of The Grid.”

Tron: Uprising is set between the two Disney movies. The voice cast includes:

Elijah Wood as Beck: Beck must master and perfect his skills under Tron to become the brave warrior and hero he’s destined to become, and move the Grid to the place it needs to be – a place of peace.

Emmanuelle Chriqui as Paige: A field commander with unmatched combat skills, Paige has endured her share of tragedy. Separated from Grid “family” during a battle, she was rescued by Tesler. This resulted in a deep loyalty to him, which sometimes blinds her to his darker side. She is Beck’s chief antagonist and, eventually, the object of his desire.

Mandy Moore as Mara: One of Beck’s best friends and co-worker at the garage. Mara specializes in the deadliest weaponry/vehicles.

Nate Corddry as Zed: One of Beck’s best friends and co-worker at the garage, Zed’s specialty is working on the fastest vehicles within the Grid.

Lance Henriksen as Tesler: One of Clu’s generals. Extremely ambitious, and therefore desperate to please Clu, his goal is to crush Argon City to gain power, and move beyond this remote sector of the Grid.

Reginald VelJohnson as Able: Beck’s “grandfather” type figure. Able owns and runs the garage where Beck, Zed and Mara work. As one of Flynn’s first programs he is the elder statesman of Argon Sector, but is constantly worried about the future, and Beck.

Bruce Boxleitner as Tron: A fallen hero who was once the greatest warrior and protector of the Grid, Tron is now in seclusion after being deeply damaged in a battle with Clu. He sees Beck as a worthy warrior to step into his role and be his successor.

Fred Tatasciore will be the voice of Clu 2 and Kevin Flynn

The show will officially debut Thursday, June 7, on Disney XD, but you won’t have to wait that long to see an episode of the show. Disney also plans a special half-hour Tron “prelude” next month, titled Tron: Uprising, Beck’s Beginning, that will air on the flagship Disney Channel on May 18.
