ROSA by Jesús Orellana (@JesusOrellana_ ) @geeksngoddesses
Check out this amazing animated short film by Spanish artist Jesús Orellana.
Synopsis:
ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind’s last attempt to restore the earth’s ecosystem. Rosa will soon learn that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival.
The short-film was created entirely by young comic-artist Jesús Orellana with no budget during a single year. Since it’s world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, ROSA has been an official selection at film festivals around the world such as Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, Anima Mundi or Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival. In October, ROSA was screened at the opening night of the Sitges International Film Festival, considered the world’s best festival specialized in genre films. Following the succesful festival run, the short film has attracted the attention of the major talent-agencies and Hollywood producers.
Currently ROSA is in development to be a live-action motion picture.

Amazing 7 ft. Gundam Papercraft by Taras Lesko
Taras Lesko has created what has to be the ultimate papercraft project, a 7 ft., 10 lb. Gundam! The Gundam is made from 720 individual sheets of paper and 1,250 separate parts, designed and printed from his laser printer and desktop plotters at home.
Starting in November 2010, Lesko bought a die-cast model of the Gundam Mark II and took multi angle pictures to render a 3-D model on his computer. From there, he created the 1,250 individual pieces via Photoshop incorporating all the of the signature Gundam graphics and colors.
It took Lesko about 350 hours over the course of 3-4 months to put the project together. Check out the time lapse video of the entire build above

Mark Hamill Retires from Voicing the Clown Prince of Crime!
Mark Hamill announced yesterday via Twitter that he is stepping away from his iconic work as the ultimate voice of the Joker.
According to @HamillHimself: “Hello/Goodbye Joker! I’ve enjoyed every minute behind the wheel of the Crown Prince’s crazy car- I’m going to miss him more than I can say!!”
We will definitely miss his Joker rendition as well. Mark Hamill was as excellent in his voice acting work as Kevin Conroy playing The Dark Knight. Both actors’ work on Batman: The Animated Series made it one of the best pieces of animation to come out of the 90’s!
Mark Hamill also brought the Joker to life in the video game version of Batman in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
Thanks again Mark!
Comics Alliance posted a great tribute to Mark Hamill’s Joker here: http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/10/19/mark-hamill-retires-the-joker-arkham-city/
